    でした ・ かったです

    いあつかったですあつくなかったです
    いよかったですよくなかったです (いい is irregular)

    きのうは あめでした。

    It rained yesterday.

    きのうは あつかったです。

    It was hot yesterday.

    Nounは どうでしたか？

    How was (noun)?

    きのうの えいがは どうでしたか？

    How was yesterday's movie?

    おもしろかったです。

    It was interesting.

  3. A is more … than B

    AはBよりAdjです。

    A is more (adj) than B.

    にほんは ちゅうごくより ちいさいです。

    Japan is smaller than China.

  4. Which one is more …?

    AとBと どちらがAdjですか？

    Which is more (adj), A or B?

    いぬと ねこと どちらが すきですか？

    Which do you like more, dogs or cats?

    いぬの ほうが すきです。

    I prefer dogs.

    どちらも すきです。

    I like both.

  5. The most …

    GroupでXが いちばんAdjです。

    Among (group), X is the most (adj).

    にほんりょうりで なにが いちばん おいしいですか？

    What's the most delicious Japanese food?

    てんぷらが いちばん おいしいです。

    Tempura is the most delicious.

    Question words: なに what · どこ where · だれ who · いつ when. The group can also be 〜の なかで.
